Description:
That "Huckleberry Friends" Line from the classic "Moon River" is pure Johnny Mercer. The Savannah-born lyricist has been called the "great folk poet" of popular song - a man with a pitch-perfect ear for the way Americans talk and dream. Over more than 40 years, Mercer worked with such composers as Harold Arlen, Hoagy Carmichael, Jerome Kern and Henry Mancini, writing indelible lyrics for "Blues in the Night," "Skylark," "I'm Old-Fashioned," "Come Rain or Come Shine" and hundreds of other songs. Celebrate the Johnny Mercer centennial with us at this very special concert. For more information call 216-987-4444.
