Event Description
BARS (Beatboxing, Acting, Rapping, Singing) is a hip-hop music theatre-based improv show presented in partnership by Baldwin Wallace Music Theatre and Playhouse Square, their 14th collaborative production. Conceived by Baldwin Wallace Music Theatre alum, Jay Ellis, BARS is an innovative production combining the classic music theatre artform with contemporary skills in beatboxing and rapping. The culturally diverse and stylistically dynamic cast will pilot the interactive audience experience through the world of improvisational sketch comedy while creating scenes and songs (both lyrics and music) completely on the spot. Each show will present a unique combination of characters, scenes and material using audience input. The cast of Baldwin Wallace Music Theatre students will make you laugh, groove, rap, and sing along to relatable scenarios and hummable tunes. Defying gender, genre, and technological challenges, BARS brings a new level of innovation and entertainment to virtual theatre!
