Director of Ticketing

Playhouse Square is looking for a self-motivated, outgoing individual with strong data base management, and a service-oriented disposition  to take on our exciting position of Director of Ticketing. 

Responsibilities

  1. Embrace Playhouse Square values and programs that further Diversity, Equity and Inclusion within the department.
  2. Have working knowledge of all aspects of the ticketing system and third-party integrations to empower and support staff within their specialties.
  3. Gain insights into new systems and platforms for future potential use; direct all phases of new system or platform implementations.
  4. Act as the centralized source for all internal reporting from systems; direct processes for creating reports and responding to department requests for business intelligence. 
  5. Manage the financial needs and budget of the department.
  6. Build staff redundancy and expertise in all areas, including box office operations.
  7. Operate with a collaborative, service mentality to all departments and resident companies to advocate for their needs with a customer-first approach.
  8. Guide trouble shooting and act as primary liaison between the system and third parties.
  9. Oversee working relationships with payment gateways and processors.
  10. Track fraudulent activity; establish prevention strategies to minimize. 
  11. Understand and implement adjustments to policy and procedure driven by applicable legislative changes.
  12. Oversee the ticketing function and budgets for box office.
  13. Direct management of ticket scanning to assure a smooth, event ready and well-maintained system; assure scanning functionality for new venues as they come online.
  14. Evaluate and continuously improve standard operating procedures; develop communications strategies with other departments, establishing reasonable deadlines and work flows.
  15. Develop and maintain local, system-specific and industry relationships.
  16. Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

  1. Minimum of 8 years management and technical experience in Ticketing within the sports, live entertainment or performing arts industry.
  2. Experience with integrating multiple systems and partners; working knowledge of AudienceView a plus.
  3. Experience with data base management, structure and reporting.
  4. Bachelor’s degree required.
  5. Outgoing, service-oriented and comfortable working in team environments.           
  6. Flexible, with ability to work in fast paced, changing environment.
  7. Self-motivated with strong organizational and advance planning skills.
  8. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with ability to present at all levels.
