Theater Housekeeping - Part Time

Salary Range: $15.00/hour

Playhouse Square is seeking a team player to work in our beautiful, historic theaters as a member of the theater housekeeping team. We require an individual with excellent communication skills, is self-motivated, and able to work independently. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your skills and be part of the region’s destination for entertainment, arts education, and economic development.

Weekend Shifts: Must be available from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Saturday & Sunday

Responsbilities:

  1. Embrace Playhouse Square values and programs that further Diversity, Equity and Inclusion within the department.
  2. Clean and freshen assigned areas as needed and as specified by supervisor.
    • Dust
    • Sweep/vacuum floors
    • Clean restrooms
    • Pull trash
    • Polish furniture
  3. Maintain supplies and inventory spaces in an organized and professional manner.
  4. Constantly be on the lookout for areas in need of attention, clean when appropriate and advise full-time staff if additional assistance is required.
  5. Maintain good communication with coworkers and supervisor both verbal and written, as needed, and respond clearly and immediately to radio calls.
  6. Be familiar with the operation of all housekeeping equipment.
  7. Perform other duties as requested by the Housekeeping Supervisor.
  8. Work in accord with contract cleaning crews.
  9. Maintain the public spaces of Playhouse Square during performances and special events.
  10. At the start of each shift, check information board for previous and scheduled events to determine spaces needing attention.
  11. Work cooperatively with maintenance, security, and other departments as needed.

Qualifications

  1. Previous housekeeping experience.
  2. Physical ability to lift 50 pounds and work with cleaning chemicals.
  3. Self-motivated with strong organizational skills.
  4. Excellent verbal communication skills.
  5. Outgoing, people oriented person, with outstanding interpersonal skills.
  6. Knowledge of current PC hardware and software.
