This time of year is so merry and bright, isn't it? And one of our favorite parts is the music! You may have guessed we love Broadway here at Playhouse Square, and there is so much music to explore. So however you plan to celebrate the holidays, here are a few of our favorite songs and albums from the stars of Broadway to listen to this season:
- “Love is Christmas” by the cast of WAITRESS
“It’s a song by Sara Bareilles the cast recorded for Broadway Cares. While I love Sara's original version, there's something extra special about the whole cast singing it!” – Kristen, Marketing
- “I really enjoy ‘Hark! The Herald Angels Sing’ by Billy Porter from the Carols for a Cure album. It’s catchy, upbeat, and hard not to tap your foot along to while listening!” – Megan, Theater Operations
- “Leslie Odom Jr.’s ‘Simply Christmas’ Album. His soothing and warm sound makes my soul happy!” – Emily, Education
- “’Silent Night’ is one of my favorite Christmas songs to hear on Christmas Eve, and Lea Michele does a gorgeous cover of the song, bringing a modern twist to a Christmas classic.” - Carly, Development
- ‘A Lovely Way to Spend Christmas’ by Kristin Chenoweth
“I love the way she takes classic Christmas songs and makes them her own! My go-to Christmas baking soundtrack for the last 10 years!” – Antoinette, Individual Ticket Sales and Service
- ‘Christmas’ by Michael Ball
"One of musical theater’s greatest voices of all time! The entire record is great, by my standouts are “A Winter’s Tale” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.” And if you find yourself thinking about your loved ones you may have lost, ‘Light a Candle’ is beautiful.” – Jason, Marketing
