The countdown to the holiday season has officially begun, and there’s no better time to plan a visit to the Playhouse Square District. From seasonal shows to reveling in the works of our resident companies, or exploring our dazzling district, Playhouse Square is ready to welcome guests during the most wonderful time of the year.
Festive Fun
Before guests take their seats for a show at Playhouse Square, they can experience the sights and sounds of the holiday season throughout the PSQ District, including décor on US Bank Plaza that is perfect for holiday opps with family and friends. Hofbräuhaus Cleveland is hosting numerous holidays events including an Ugly Christmas Sweater party with Krampus, Brunch with St. Nicholas, Keg Tapping with Krampus and Christmas Eve with the Hermit Orchestra. Visitors can also try a seasonal cocktail at Sushi En, grab a cup of cheer at Starbucks or enjoy a special holiday treat at Corbo’s Bakery.
Guests and their four-legged friends can visit with Santa Paws at US Bank Plaza on Saturday, December 16 from 11am – 2pm, courtesy of Crowne Plaza Cleveland at Playhouse Square.
If guests need some holiday gift inspiration for friends and family, Driftwood Hospitality is offering a special promotion on gift cards from November 24- December 31. Spotlight on Seasonal Shows
Special seasonal shows are taking center stage at Playhouse Square from the end of November through December. Ranging from comedy to concerts and dance, these performances are certain to bring some holiday cheer.

Holiday Favorites
Playhouse Square’s resident companies are making the season merry and bright with performances of holiday favorites. Guests can learn from the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future as Great Lakes Theatre brings the classic Dickens’ tale A Christmas Carol to life at the Mimi Ohio Theatre (Nov. 24 – Dec. 23). Then audiences can prepare to be swept away by the beautiful melodies and dance in the Cleveland Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker (Dec. 14 – 23). Cleveland Play House will once again “deck the halls” of the Allen Theatre lobby with the Festival of Trees. Finally, theatergoers can also experience the Nativity story with gospel music and dramatic dance as Cleveland Play House partners with Karamu House for a powerful presentation of Black Nativity (Dec 1 – 16).
