Ahoy, Northeast Ohioans! Jump Back Ball returns to Playhouse Square for a swashbuckling good time on February 25. Themed “A Night On The High Seas,” the annual event, hosted by Playhouse Square’s young professionals group Partners, raises funds to support the organization’s not-for-profit mission and educational programming.
For more than 30 years, Jump Back Ball has supported educational programs that reach more than 100,000 Northeast Ohio students. This includes in-person and streaming theater performances for schools; sensory-friendly programming; the Dazzle Awards high school musical theater awards program; and Disney Musicals in Schools, through which Playhouse Square plants sustainable musical theater programs in local elementary schools each year. Since 1991, Jump Back Ball has generated nearly $3 million to benefit Playhouse Square’s not-for-profit mission.
Tickets start at $75 and are available for purchase at playhousesquare.org beginning Wednesday, Jan. 11. The evening includes heavy hors d’oeuvres, an open bar, live entertainment by Faction Cleveland and DJ Red-I, dancing on a Playhouse Square stage and games of chance. Dressing for the theme is also encouraged.
To showcase the Jump Back Ball theme, Partners members spend evenings throughout January and February painting, sewing and building the event’s one-of-a-kind décor. In the past few years, Partners have built a miniature replica of the London Bridge, a massive boombox as the centerpiece of the KeyBank State Theatre’s lobby and a life-size awards statue.
Jump Back Ball is co-chaired by Partners members Gina Foti & Zoe Ingram-Molls. The young professionals group focuses on developing leadership skills and building community connections while supporting Playhouse Square’s not-for-profit mission through fundraising and volunteer work. Membership information is available at playhousesquare.org/partners.
