Playhouse Square is calling on the community to play a role on its Day of Giving, set for February 5, 2025. This special day commemorates the opening of its first historic theater in 1921 and highlights the transformative power of community support.
“Playhouse Square was saved by the community for the community,” said Playhouse Square President & CEO Craig Hassall. “On this Day of Giving, we ask the community to play a role in preserving that legacy and help us continue providing life-changing programs and performances.”
Playhouse Square’s success as one of the world’s premier arts districts is a testament to the generous donors who support its not-for-profit mission. Today, Playhouse Square features 12 venues, is home to eight resident companies, and offers a wide array of performances and educational programs.
Every donation supports initiatives like providing arts education programs to thousands of students, maintaining the grandeur of the historic theaters, and bringing world-class performances to Cleveland. Contributions made during the Day of Giving will ensure the continued preservation of these historic venues and expand access to the arts.
Donations to Playhouse Square’s not-for-profit mission can be made online at playhousesquare.org/givingday. Every contribution plays a crucial role in sustaining the arts and enriching the cultural fabric of Northeast Ohio.
