Notebook Sets Closing Date
The Notebook has announced its closing date for December 15, 2024. If you’re heartbroken that you won’t be able to see this show in Manhattan before it closes, the news of the show’s first national tour launching here at Playhouse Square should help dry those tears! Divas Dominate!
Three of Broadway's iconic divas return to the Broadway stage this year. Audra McDonald, the most Tony awarded actress of all time, stars in the musical revival of Gypsy. Idina Menzel will perform in Redwood, a brand new musical about taking a leap of faith, something our OG Elphaba knows a thing or two about. And the legendary Patti LuPone will lead in the new Jen Silverman play alongside Mia Farrow. We can already see those TONY noms stacking up!
Akron Native Dazzles on Broadway
After two years in the North American tour of ALADDIN, Akron Native and BW graduate Marcus M. Martin makes Broadway debut as Genie in ALADDIN this month. Cleveland audiences were spellbound by Martin’s performance when he played here back in 2023 and we are so very proud to see one of our own making waves in NYC! Throwback to this special moment when Marcus saw our ALADDIN billboard.
They’re going to sing it, and sing it again!
Fan favorites Jordan Fisher, Maia Reficco, Phillip Boykin will extend their run in Broadway’s HADESTOWN. Online, audiences and calling out for a second cast album featuring Fisher, but until then you’ll just have to come on down, way down to HADESTOWN on Broadway.

Social Sensation dancing his way to Akron
Tay Marquise @taymarquise the touring Broadway actor blowing up on social media for his dancing makes his was to Broadway in Akron. Marquise went viral recently with unique choreo for SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE and with what seems the entire Broadway world jumping on this trend. With his bright smile and killer moves, Tay is sure to light up E.J. Thomas hall when he visits this October with MEAN GIRLS the musical. So fetch!
The Big Gay Jamboree in Rehearsals!
THE BIG GAY JAMBOREE “a big new musical comedy that’s pushing the envelope and the gay agenda” will open Off-Broadway this month. Directed and choreographed by Playhouse Square friend and Dazzle Awards choreographer Connor Gallagher, this fun new production boasts Margot Robbie’s production company LuckyChap as a producer! Knowing how Gallager wows audiences with choreography in BEETLEJUICE and our annual Dazzle Awards Ceremony, we’re sure NYC audiences will be clapping their hands and snapping their fans for THE BIG GAY JAMBOREE.
